Founded in 2025 by Nicola Barr and based on Peckham’s diverse Rye Lane, Rye Literary aspires to be a literary agency representing writers from all walks of life.

Nicola has worked in publishing all her adult life, moving from editorial assistant to literary agency director to, most recently, an agent at The Bent Agency, where she learned how important - and fun - it was to think globally and not focus solely on the market in the UK & Ireland.

In establishing Rye Literary she will focus on what she does best: finding and nurturing talent, getting good writing out in the world and helping writers navigate the often baffling publishing industry
